The Clinical Innovation Platform (CLIP), powered by National Bank, is pleased to announce the addition of Beeta Biomed Inc. as CLIP’s latest member.
Beeta Biomed Inc. is a Quebec-based start-up is developing point-of-care diagnostic technologies that could support rapid interventions in infectious diseases, particularly the current and future pandemics. SALIVERA is Beeta’s first prototype. SALIVERA is a novel medical diagnostic instrument, which is faster, simpler, and much less costly than the gold standard PCR (polymerase chain reaction) methods for respiratory infections such as COVID 19 and influenza. SALIVERA could contribute to the rapid testing or screening at the point of care, in low-resource, remote, or congregate settings. (Short description of activity)
With CLIP support, Beeta Biomed will aim to develop the SALIVERA commercial device. This will improve the reliability of the device to be tested in the hospital system. (Next steps for the company)
