The healthcare industry faces numerous challenges, and HealthTechnology startups aim to address these issues with innovative solutions. Physicians can play a vital role in solving these challenges by providing guidance, mentorship, and feedback to companies working on groundbreaking solutions. We will show examples of practicing physicians currently involved in startups as founders, investors and advisors in healthcare startups.
We will demonstrate how their intimate knowledge of the healthcare landscape positions them as invaluable resources for these startups, bridging the gap between medical expertise and entrepreneurial innovation to improve patient care and outcomes.
There will be a focus on the benefits of such endeavours including: impact to society, professional and personal development and financial rewards.
We will also introduce the Halo Health physician angel group which has already invested in 41 startups since 2020 and removes a lot of the friction and hassle associated with getting involved in technology startups. We will discuss some of its advantages such as paid specialty-matched advisory positions, healthcare connections and capital for early stage healthtech ventures.
